John McCord, Craig Sweeney, Daniel McHugh and Ian McCormack are taking part in Movember this year. John sent us this message explaining why they are taking part and what the Movember organisation is about. Good luck to them all and we ;look forward to seeing & hearing how they get on!
If you would like to support them, please scroll down through the article and click onto the link.
This is John's message:
How many times have you asked a friend how they are, only to hear, "I'm grand" even though you know in your gut that they aren't. Perhaps you don't know what to say as awkwardness begins to set in and it’s just so much easier to slip into banter.
We need to get past that initial awkwardness and start having those deeper, more meaningful conversations because for men who are struggling, those chats can be lifesaving.
Three out of four suicides worldwide are men. Every minute, somewhere in the world, a man dies by suicide. That equates to over 510,000 men in the last 12 months alone.
Movember are the leading Men's mental health charity in the world having funded over 1200 men's health charities worldwide since 2003. By 2030 they aim to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
As many of you will know, this is particularly close to my heart as I lost my brother to mental health earlier this year. I would like to do whatever I can to help Movember reach their goal.
Over the month of November, along with some of my best mates, I aim to:
-Raise €1000 (for Movember Ireland)
-Cover 600km (between us)
-Grow a moustache (G'luck)
Please feel free to share this to help get the word out. The more people that see it, the more chance we have of helping this great charity reach their goal.
We're doing this in the hope that some of those days, we'll have someone to walk with and maybe spark up a conversation about mental health along the way.

All donations are welcome and will be very much appreciated as each one will help Movember keep doing what they do best.
If anyone would like to join one of us on a walk some day, or even just have a chat, please do pop us a message! We look forward to hearing peoples stories over the next few weeks.
