Senior Boys 20.12.21

Also on Tuesday afternoon Michael Cooper was present for his last rugby session in WHS. Michael is a past pupil of the school and is moving to Townsville, Australia the end of December to begin a teaching degree In History and English. Michael is originally from Australia and is moving back “Down Under” with his family. Michael joined our rugby coaching team in September and quickly became a wonderful mentor to our 1st year rugby team. Occasionally taking sessions on his own as well as completing the affiliate referees course so he could referee games in WHS.Michael represented the school with distinction on and off the rugby field. He was co-captain of the Junior team that got narrowly beaten in the 1B league final in 2016. We wish Michael all the very best with his new life in Australia and look forward to him honouring his promise to the 1st years that he would come back and see them play a senior cup game before they graduate from Wilson’s. The 1st years presented Michael with a photo and signed rugby ball as a small token of their thanks for his efforts in recent months.

Members of the 1st year boys rugby team gathered this morning to wish Jonny Charles all the best with his new Job. Jonny joined our coaching team in September and was an excellent mentor to the 1st year boys. Jonny recently got a new job which means he will no longer be available after school for training and games. The first years presented him with a ball and photo as a small token for his commitment and help in recent months.
