The Minor A Team 2 Girls, the 1st Year Girls Team 1 and the 1st Year Girls Team 2 all had away hockey fixtures today.

The Minor A Team 2 were away playing Loreto Foxrock today. They met a very evenly matched team in a hard fought first half. There were a number of opportunities for scoring but unfortunately, none turned into goals leaving the half time score as 0-0. After a quick half time chat, the girls went back out to a competitive second half with Loreto slipping a goal passed about half way through. Shortly before the final whistle, Loreto got another goal on a rebound from a lovely goalie save. This left the final score as 2-0.It was a well-played hard-fought game and well done to all the girls who played their hearts out. Player of the match was Ellen S. who had some lovely runs and great chances with special mention to Eva C., Laura G, Robyn B and Saoirse B who put in a lot of effort.

The advantage of a big wind played a significant role. Further tries from Callum, Leke and George with 3 conversions from David left the final score 36-10. Drogheda responded with two well taken tries of their own in the second half.
