Rugby. The 1st & 2nd Year Boys Squad traveled to Tullamore in the evening for a challenge match against the Club's U14 team. Tullamore got off to a great start and got three early tries on the board before Wilson's replied with a try through team captain Ross. The second half was a much more even affair with Tullamore scoring three tries and Wilson's scoring two through Player of the Match Matthew and Reuben getting the final score. The boys can be very proud of their display against a slightly older and bigger team. Top performers for Wilson's on the night we Reuben, Matthew and Stephen who was playing against his old club! The 1st and 2nd Year team will welcome St. Finian's to Multyfarnham in their next game.

Wednesday 20th  September

Rugby. The Junior Boys and The Senior Boys had league fixtures against Newpark Comprehensive today in Blackrock. Unfortunately, the Seniors suffered their second league loss of the season going down 27-10. After conceding an early try and penalty they fought back with a try from William and a penalty from Richard leaving the half time score 15-10 to Newpark. In the second half Newpark added two further tries leaving them with a comfortable win. The Seniors take on Skerries next Wednesday in the third round of the league.

Meanwhile the Junior Boys team got off to a winning start in their league winning 29-5 against Newpark. At half time, Wilson's held a slender 5-0 lead thanks to a well taken try by Ben after some neat handling from Evan and Thomas. Wilson's pushed on in the second half and added further tries through Sam (2) and Jensen (2). This win was built on a solid foundation by the pack. Skipper Mark, Scott and Ola all had fine games. A special mention to Rodrigo who played his first game of rugby and had a fine game at full back. Well done to Jesse, Craig, Ivan and Carlos who all made their competitive rugby debuts for the school.
