Tuesday 7th November.

Rugby. The 1st & 2nd Year Boys team played Mullingar under lights this evening. Wilson's First year rugby team dusted off their rugby boots after the mid-term break and produced arguably their best performance to date beating a very strong Mullingar U13s team 54-27.

Stephen produced a man of the match performance at centre scoring 4 tries and adding 2 conversions. Eddie and Ross scored 2 tries each with Devine and Tom completing the scoring. The result was didn't reflect Mullingar’s performance who played some expansive rugby throughout.

The foundations for this great performance were laid by the pack and in particular Deji and team captain Nathan putting in stellar performances in the front row. Matthew and Daniel were as hard working as ever and put in great performances in defence. In the backs Tom continues to pull the strings at 10 while Matt put in some excellent tackles to stop the lively Mullingar backline. Juan and Jamie were a constant threat out wide.

Well done to the team and Coach Hales.

Wednesday 8th November.

Soccer. The Senior Boys had a Cup match this morning which they won 3-0.

Hockey. The Senior Girls A & B teams, the Junior Girls and the Minor B Girls teams all have matches today. The Senior B team started the day playing Loreto Balbriggan. They had a very good performance playing well from the outset with Fiona scoring a goal from a short corner. Some excellent passing lead to a second goal from Aramide. The second half was tough with Balbriggan putting up a good fight with some excellent opportunities in the circle. Wilson's managed to regain momentum and Aoibh scored two well worked team goals in the final ten minutes. The final score was a 4-0 win for Wilson's.

The Senior A team took on Temple Carraig in Greystones. Wilson's won the game 4-2 after a hard fought game in the rain. They had a very fast start with Emily scoring inside the first two minutes. However, lack of concentration led to a very easy goal chance for Temple Carraig. Just before half time Wilson's regained the lead once more with a well timed finish from Leah. Hard work in the second half and an excellent solo effort from Emily created the third goal which was finished with a one on one with the goal keeper. Once again Temple Carraig came storming back with a very well finished short corner. Wilson's took control of the game from there and finished with a wonderful team goal. Excellent results for the girls.

Rugby. The Junior Boys team contested the quarter final of the 1B league against Skerries today. They eventually came out on top to end the game 36-33. Skerries wer 7-0 up after 5 minutes. A big hit from their captain forced a spilled ball in the 22 and Skerries No. 14 walked in for the easiest of scores. Wilson's responded with a try through man of the match, number 8 Jeffrey. WHS added a second try through Walter before the men from north Co. Dublin added another try to leave 2 between the teams at half time.

The second half was a mirror of the first with both teams trading tries. Wilson's added through Evan, Sam, Jensen and a superb run the length of the field by Ben. Some strong defence  the end got Wilson's over the line with very little to spare. In the pack Oisín, Michael and Mark worked tirelessly at the breakdown. In the backs Al Amin was fantastic in defence while Denians and Rodrigo always made ground with the ball in hand! Next week Wilson's travel to St Andrew's for the semi final.
