Fully modernised dormitories are laid out in sections, in separate buildings for boys and girls. Most rooms hold three or four beds, although some larger dormitories (for girls) have up to eight. Each student has their own lockable wardrobe and bedside locker. Students are encouraged to personalise their room as much as possible with posters, photos, rugs, bedlinen etc. Within their separate buildings both boys and girls are divided into sections according to year. First years, for example, have their own separate section. This eases pupils into residential living, as many will be living away from home for the first time.
