Wednesday 26th February
Rugby. Our Senior Boys, Junior Boys, and 1st Year Boys teams were all in action.
Seniors v St Paul's
Our seniors made amends for their cup defeat with a 22-14 win over St Paul's. Denians (2), Ola and Jack scored the tries while Ben added one conversion.
Jack, Scott and David were the pick of the pack while Shalom and Thomas did very well in the backs. Jeffery was Man of the Match
First Years v St Paul's
Our first year team also travelled to St Paul's on Wednesday and came out on top 48-12. Scores cam from Darren (3), William, Kevin, Yaw (2) and Rowland. Top performers in the pack were Fintan, Micah and Callum while Josh, Ignacio and John did well in the backs. Tom was named Man of the Match as he had a fine game at scrumhalf.
Junior Rugby v St Gerard's Bray
Our juniors travelled to Bray for friendly before their final next week. Missing 6 starters from their last cup match, it was always going to be a tall order to beat Bray who play a section higher in the cup. It turned out to be a great run out for our lads, who eventually lost out 36-12. Lots of players got a chance to perform in front of coaches Fred and Clare who now have the job of picking 22 players for next Wednesday. Scores came from Matthew C and Eoghan.
A reminder that the Junior 1's play Naas CBS next Wednesday (4th of March) in Cill Dara Rugby Club. Kick off 2pm. All support welcome!
Soccer. Wilson's boys played their opening match in the Joe McGrath cup away to Clongowes Wood.
Clongowes fielded a very strong team of mostly 6th year pupils, where as we had only one in our ranks, a couple of 5th years, with our 3rd and 4th years mostly making up the numbers. We were going to be in for a testing time and so it proved with the final score 8-0 (6-0 at half-time)
The effort from the boys could not be questioned and they duly fought for every ball until the full-time whistle.
Man of the match was Rowland with Al-Amin and Jesse also putting in stellar performances.
Friday 28th February.
