School exams are on this week so there are fewer competitive matches being played.

Wednesday 27th November. The only Rugby game of the week was played on Wednesday afternoon. Clongowes Wood College travelled to Wilson's to take on our boy's Junior 2 side - a great chance for players to stake a claim for a first team place with the 1B league semi final around the corner.

Wilson's started very well and after ten minutes were 12-0 up - Scott with two tries and Rowland with the conversion. Matt was next to get his name on the score sheet with an excellent individual effort showing great power to brush off a couple of wood be tacklers. Cian and Darren added further scores before half time to leave the score 29-0 at the break.

After the break CWC grew into the game a bit more. A well struck penalty and a try brought some respectability to the scoreboard. Darren eventually broke the CWC resistance again thanks to some great build up play from George and Jamie. There were further tries through Kevin, Darren (hat trick), Jamie and two conversions from Elliott before CWC replied with one of their own. The final score was 53-15

Plenty of hard work up front from Edward, Mark, Charlie and James laid the foundation for the backs to do well. Rowland and Elliott controlled the back-line while young guns Callum, Yaw and Darren looked right at home playing up an age grade.

The J2s travel to Navan RFC next Wednesday while the J1s are up in St Columba’s College.
